Festival of Voluntaries, Anthems and Hymns

The 2014-2015 concert season begins with a concert in collaboration with the St. Joseph chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Voluntaries, anthems and hymns following the liturgical year will be presented. Organist Joby Bell from the Hayes School of Music in Boone, NC will perform voluntaries and accompany anthems and hymns. The Chorus and Chamber Choir will perform anthems and lead the audience in hymn singing. Featured composers will be John Rutter, Dale Wood, Hovland, Lloyd Pfautsch, Michael Haydn and Christiansen.


Christmas at the Cathedral
with the Fountain City Brass Band

The Chorus will be joined once again by the award-winning Fountain City Brass Band in presenting one of St. Joseph’s favorite holiday events in the beautiful Cathedral of St. Joseph. Selections by Christiansen, Lauridsen, Whitacre, Clasen, Dello Joio, Tavener and Willcocks are just some of the composers to be featured. This concert is sure to please and start the holiday season in grand style.


Celebrated Choruses from Musical Theater and the Cinema
Sunday, April 12, 2015 – 3 p.m.

Christ Episcopal Church
207 North 7th Street, St. Joseph, MO

In its final concert of the season, the Chorus and Chamber Choir will present celebrated choruses from musical theater and the cinema. Selections from Les Misérables, The Mission, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Wizard of Oz, Cars and Wicked and others will be performed. This concert is a great way to round out the season.
